THINGS TO DO AROUND JACKSONVILLE / AMELIA ISLAND

Fort Clinch

Fernandina Beach Main Street

Find Sharks Teeth

Yes, you can find shark teeth along the beaches near Fernandina Beach, especially around shell beds and darker patches of sand. Most are small, black, and fossilized—easy to miss unless you’re looking closely. Your best chances come at low tide or after a storm, particularly near Fort Clinch State Park. While it’s not Florida’s top shark tooth destination, it’s a fun and rewarding bonus for beachgoers willing to hunt a little.

Fresh Seafood

Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are known for their deep fishing roots, and the local seafood scene reflects it with everything from dockside shacks to upscale dining.
